    Background on the ESA

    Our vision encompasses educational services for students, teachers, administrators, and school board members throughout Navajo County. To ensure the best for our students, the ESA hosts continuing education programs adn opportunities for professionals to help ensure student success. 

    Under the umbrella of the ESA are services offered to schools and students, unique to Navajo County. The agency is a division of the Navajo County School Superintendent's office which also houses the Special Services Consortium, HOPE school (juvenile detention education), NCAD, and the Navajo County Instruction for Success High School (NCIS).

    The Navajo County ESA is also a part of a three county consortium (Apache, Navajo, & Coconino) that was created by Governer Brewer and the state County School Superintendents, the Northeast Arizona Regional Center

     

    Professional Learning Opportunities

     The ESA provides professional development both digitally (online courses & webinars), workshop style, and face-to-face in a peer coaching format.

    Topics currently available (but not limited to): 

    1. Project Based Learning across the curriculum
    2. Peer Coaching
    3. Interactive Whiteboard (IWB) lessons
    4. Basic Microsoft Office Applications
    5. Online Security/Cyberbullying
    6. Multimedia in the classroom (specific software and tools use)
    7. Distance collaboration and communication (epals, SKYPE, webinars)
    8. K-8 Science projects and programs
    9. Art Integration in Science, Math, Social Studies, and ELA classrooms
    10. Educational Game
    11. Virtual Labs and Virtual Fieldtrips
    12. Writing for Classroom Grants
    13. Common Core ELA and Math, phase 1 and 2
